It’s your last chance to vote for your movements

Today’s the day! It’s your very last chance to vote for your favourite movement, so don’t miss out.

As you know, we want to reduce pressure on resources and limit our impact on the planet. We need your help to design three new watches from unused components. You’ll vote for every element, and together we’ll create something you’ll love.

First, the movements

Will you go for precision quartz? The Swiss-made Ronda movements are known for their accuracy and affordable cost.

Perhaps you’d prefer to stick to our Swiss heritage and choose an automatic movement. The Sellita SW200 is a top-notch three hand automatic, so you can forget about winding your timepiece.

Or maybe you’re into sports. In that case, you need the Lajoux-Perret 7773 chronograph automatic movement, for meticulous timekeeping.

It’s in your hands!

The movement – also known as the caliber – is a watch’s powerhouse. This intricate, highly complex mechanism is the result of careful craftsmanship.
What better place to begin our journey!

The decision is in your hands. We need you, our community, to choose the movements for our community-designed upcycled watches.

All three movements are Swiss made, offering their own distinctive signature to the project.

Quartz movement: AL-240
Based on a Ronda movement, this caliber delivers precise Swiss timekeeping within everyone’s reach. Powered by a combination of crystal and batteries, quartz movements are user-friendly and low maintenance.

Quartz chronograph movement: AL-372
This movement has the same specifications as a basic quartz movement with added chronograph functionalities.

Automatic movement AL-525
Nowadays, if Switzerland is considered as the home of the finest watchmaking, it is mainly due to its mastery of automatic movements. This automatic movement is based on a Sellita SW200. Combining manual mechanisms with the wearer’s kinetic energy, automatic movements save you from daily winding.

Automatic chronograph movement: AL-860
Fine Swiss watchmaking meets high sporting performance with this caliber based on a Lajoux-Perret 7773 movement. Beloved by aviators, divers, and astronauts, a chronograph movement has separate second and minute sub-dials, allowing it to function as a stopwatch.
Head over to our website to check out our watch creator and experiment with the movements.

Hurry! You only have until April 26th to vote. CLICK HERE.

Three universes, one remarkable heritage

Alpina collections are inspired by three universes: land, air and sea. These elemental entities drive our brand design and timepiece functionalities.

Air: Startimer

In 1920, we took to the air. We created a range of pilot watches to help aviators navigate the skies.

Our Startimer collection takes inspiration from the original formats. Effortlessly stylish, the dials are clean and legible, complemented by traditional oversized crowns.

Land: Alpiner

In 1933, we set the standard for modern sports watches with our Alpina 4 timepiece. Crafted from high-quality stainless steel, it was anti-magnetic, shock-resistant, and water-resistant.

Our Alpiner watches remain true to this influence. Designed to endure the toughest conditions, they are strong, stylish, and easy to wear.

Sea: Seastrong

In 1967, we explored the depths of the ocean. Our original diving watch, the Alpina 10 Seastrong, was a must-have for professional divers.

Our current Seastrong timepieces honor our legacy collection. Forged to function up to 300m underwater, they’re perfect for water sports. Their strong form and readable features are contemporary yet sophisticated.

Reducing our impact, one watch at a time

These universes fuel our fire and shape our brand. We take inspiration from the Earth and now it’s time to find ways to reduce our environmental impact.

We need your help. We design our watches with you, our community, in mind. Our next step is to repurpose un-used components into new eco-responsible models that reflect the functionality, fit and style you’d expect from an Alpina watch.

We want to reduce pressure on resources and limit our impact on the planet while creating something you will love.

Our heritage and our universes are important to us and inspire this new direction. Your vote counts, every step of the way. And we can’t wait to get started.

Launching this month

You’ve heard about our exciting new project to upcycle unsold stock into three eco-responsible watches.

Now we bet you can’t wait to get started.

Creativity first

This month you’ll discover our three universes. You’ll find out what they are and their significance to Alpina and the planet.

We’ll then need your expert help to choose your favourite movements and cases.

You’ll vote for your preferred dials, hands and straps in May.

The big reveal

In June, we’ll invite you to an exclusive livestream event where we’ll unveil the three community-designed watches.

Making progress

Our factory will get to work producing the three models between July and November. We’ll keep you up to speed with our progress as we go.

This is when the real planet-saving magic happens. We’ll repurpose components from unsold stock into new watches, saving them from landfill and reducing pressure on new resources.

The watches will be available online in December, just in time for the Christmas period.

Join us for fun and surprises along the way, as we become the first established brand to produce a community-designed watch.
