Our official launch will take place on 11th December, International Mountain Day. Fitting, don’t you agree?

The Salomon Foundation

For every unit you pre-ordered, and for every one purchased after the official launch, we’ll donate €25 to the Salomon Foundation, which aims to make life easier for disabled mountain athletes and experts and their families by supporting their social and professional rehabilitation. In the 20 years since it was founded, it’s helped over 300 people and counting, and together we can help even more.

Don’t miss your chance to pre-order!

DON’T WAIT TOO LONG…
Last week you discovered the new community-sourced names of our three upcycled watches. And we were thrilled to offer you the chance to pre-order the xyz, the xyz, and the xyz with a 40% discount. Not only that, you now also have three extra colour variations to choose from, featuring the second-most popular components.

And it looks like you were thrilled too. Pre-orders are rolling in and so many of you are grabbing your chance to own a piece that represents a defining moment in Alpina’s history.

Remember, there are only 100 discounted pieces available. We don’t want you to miss out.

Let’s beat last year’s donation

We’re donating €25 per watch to the Salomon Foundation, which helps disabled mountain pros get back on their feet.

It soon adds up: last year’s AlpinerX Alive raised €42,000 for the Wings For Life Foundation. Can we put in a community effort and beat that figure this year? Go team!

Revealing the winning names

THE RESULTS ARE IN!
Wow. We asked and you delivered. You voted and now we can finally reveal the names of our three unique timepieces

Surprise!

The first round of pre-orders sold out even quicker than we expected. Many of you were disappointed to miss your chance to own a watch that defines a pivotal moment in Alpina’s history. After all, it’s not every day that you can say you helped design and name the watch adorning your wrist.

So we’re reopening for another round of pre-orders.

And to reward your impressive naming work, we’re giving you a 40% discount.

With just 100 discounted pieces available per universe, we think they’ll be snapped up even quicker this time.

We’ve also added the second-most popular colour variations for each watch, plus a black PVD case option for (air).

All pre-ordered (land watches) are ready to ship, while (air) and (sea) will be delivered in time for Christmas.

Remember, for each watch sold, we’re donating €25 to injured mountain experts via the Salomon Foundation.

We’re crafting your watch

FLAWLESS IS NO FLUKE

Two weeks ago we explained why manufacturing a fine Swiss watch takes time. When the machines switch off, it’s inspection time.

All components must be flawless. No exceptions. We check that they’re impeccable, both mechanically and visually. Any faults and we halt production, reworking components or restarting entire batches until they’re up to scratch.

Our community watch project is upcycling existing components, so they’ve already passed our exacting standards. This means the Land timepieces will be ready in September, with Sea and Air following at Christmas.

The only exception is our exclusive dials. We’ll put them to the test before assembling the watches.

Save the date

Stick around because we’ve got more updates – and surprises – coming your way.

We’ll reveal more in two weeks. For now, all we’ll say is we hope you’ve got some creativity left to help us with another task. You’ll want to make sure you don’t miss out on this.

What happens next?

Great things take time
You’ve designed three exceptional timepieces, now it’s time to bring them to life.
The long manufacturing process begins by sourcing the right raw materials and crafting them into components. Lead times are lengthy. In addition, we engineer our components precisely and finish them by hand. This means movements and cases can take up to a year to produce.
Luckily, you won’t need to wait that long. Reusing existing components means we can fast track production as they’re ready to be assembled. You’ll get to unbox them as soon as September for the Land watch, while Sea and Air will be ready in time for Christmas.
Fresh new dials
But there’s one component we’re creating exclusively for you: your chosen dials.
Remember the exclusive colours and styles you voted for? In the next three months we’ll be transforming stainless steel into your chosen dials.
